Be the envy of the street with a perfect spring garden

Spring is here. Warmer and longer days are with us. And that means more time in the garden to relax, set up the BBQ or sit and read while listening to the birds. However, is your garden looking a bit worse for wear? Or, maybe it just needs an update, so why not give yourself a garden project this spring? Look no further than The Expert Gate Company, as we take a look at some spring garden inspiration.

Water features

You can beautify your gardens effortlessly with a water feature, and there are so many designs, from birdbaths and cascades to ponds and quaint wells. We’ve handpicked some of our favourite water features from Primrose.

Grow your own veggies

Why not create your own little vegetable garden and gett planting? The easiest to grow in small garden spaces include broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, celery, leeks, radishes, potatoes, spinach and herbs. Not only is this more sustainable and eco-friendly, they make lovely additions to the garden. You can use sinks, hanging pots, wooden crates or boxes if you’re pressed for space, or simply plant them in your existing soil beds.

Add a trellis or two

For growing plants and flowers, trellises are fantastic and come in many forms. Whether you need height for your veggies or want to bring some nature to a wall, there are ingenious trellis ideas to help spruce up any garden.

Light it up

Make a beautiful transition from day to evening with garden lighting that brightens up and creates romantic and magical settings. You can get posts with lights to bury into soil, spotlights for decking, fairy lights to wrap around trees or across walls and motion sensor lights – there’s so much out there to lighten up the nights.

Decking – such a popular and brilliant garden project for you to get stuck into. From spiralled designs and water-framing architecture to balconies and simple platforms, you can add amazing walkways to your own little nature spots.

Garden themes

Maybe it’s the perfect time to decorate your garden, and why not be inspired by a whole theme to get your creative juices flowing. There are quite a few that work perfectly for gardens, where you won’t struggle to find matching decor. Why not try:

Spring flowers

Of course, we couldn’t go without mentioning the types of flowers and plants that would go wonderfully with a spring garden, like:

Arrange them in rustic pots, large sinks, hanging baskets, window boxes or let them rest and relax in flower beds.

Make gardens look trim with creative hedges

Don’t forget about tidying those hedges, or maybe you feel it’s the time to get some hedge plants to border your gardens and give them a natural, neat frame. In any case, you could even take some inspiration from Edward Scissorhands and create some show-stopping hedge designs.

Driveway aesthetic

Don’t forget about your front gardens and driveways. From pebbles to brickwork, driveways can make our homes look so elegant – especially with some grand-looking driveway gates. Whether you want more privacy, a wooden aesthetic, or some colour, driveway security doesn’t have to compromise your domestic style.

If you like the look of the driveway gate above, then you’re in the right place, as we at The Expert Gate Company were happy to install it for this beautiful home. We don’t just do steel either, we have wooden, composite, and also aluminium driveway gates that can come bespoke for your property.
